Two months after tearing out the undergravel filter and switching from glazed gravel to sand and fractured stone. Added a hang on back filter with no carbon, just a 300 micron mesh bag full of bio-rings, and a better heater. There might have been a powerhead on top of a piece of foam from the LFS at this time, could have been later, though, too.
The crustaceans love it. Those are singapore wood shrimp. They are kind of like street sweepers, combing through the crap on the bottom, looking for stuff to eat. They’re pretty good at it, too. Soon after I got these the cory cats died. I think they might have gotten out competed.
You can kind of see two of the rasboras and one of the white clouds. The plants are just starting to recover from the prior tank configuration. There are still traces of the blue-green algea / cyanobacter that took over the last tank with the undergravel.
